Less efforts and more dependence

Mannar Mathai Speaking 2 is just what intelligent filmmaking is all about and, no wonder, this delightful comedy is a winner from the word go

So to sum it up, this MMS from Mamas is an average film. If you can reduce the expectations it will be really helpful. 

Mannar Mathayi speaking 2 doesn't brim with the kind of bubbly, ebullient humour which made the prequels so endearing. The humour in this film is more subdued, sometimes strained. The characters have become bloated versions of a boisterous youth.

On the whole, Mannar Mathai Speaking 2 deserves an average rating for the making style and some original ideas which doesn't do much harm to the well remembered characters of the originals.

The goodwill of the first two editions and the sway that the main characters hold over the minds of film lovers may help this one to scrape through. As a standalone movie Mannar Mathai Speaking 2 leaves a lot to be desired.

After 'Mannar Mathai Speaking 2', I so much miss all of those adorable characters even more. And above everything else, I miss that shrill, echoic ring of that rotary dial desk telephone! 

Sit, laugh and leave the theatre with a blank mind.

2014 ല്‍ എത്തുമ്പോള്‍ മാമാസിന്റെ മാഗോബാ സിനിമ മാന്നാര്‍ മത്തായി സ്പീക്കിങിന്റെ പോലും ഏഴയലത്ത് എത്തുന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും മാമാസിന്റെ സിനിമക്കുള്ള നേട്ടം ഇത് ഒറിജനലിന്റെ അത്രയധികം നശിപ്പിക്കാത്ത സിനിമയാണെന്നതാണ്. കിലുക്കം കിലുകിലുക്കവും സീനിയര്‍ മാന്‍ഡ്രേക്കും ഗീതാഞ്ജലിയുമൊക്കെ ഓര്‍ക്കുമ്പോള്‍ മാന്നാര്‍ മത്തായി സ്പീക്കിങ് അത്ര മോശം സീക്വല്‍ അല്ല.

ചുരുക്കിപ്പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ ആവശ്യമേയില്ലാത്തൊരു അതിസാഹസം എന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും പറയാനില്ല മാന്നാര്‍ മത്തായി സ്പീക്കിംഗ് രണ്ടിനെക്കുറിച്ച്. പഴയ ഹിറ്റുകാലത്തിന്റെ ഡാവിന്റെ പുറത്ത് ചാനല്വിയല്പനകളൊക്കെ തകൃതിയായി നടന്നിട്ടുണ്ടാകാം. എന്നാല്‍, പല്ലിളിച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുന്നൊരു പ്രേതക്കോലമായി മാത്രമാണ് ഈ സിനിമ കാണികള്‍ക്കു മുന്നില്‍ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നത്.

ആദ്യ രണ്ട് പതിപ്പുകളിലും തലയറഞ്ഞുചിരിച്ചിരുന്ന പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ക്ക് ഇത്തവണ തലയുറഞ്ഞ് സഹിക്കേണ്ടിവരും മാന്നാര്‍മത്തായിയെയും സംഘത്തെയും. ടൈറ്റില്‍ കാര്‍ഡില്‍ ആദ്യരണ്ട് ഭാഗങ്ങളിലെ രംഗങ്ങള്‍ വീണ്ടും കാട്ടുമ്പോള്‍ തോന്നുന്ന ഗൃഹാതുരതയ്ക്കപ്പുറം മാന്നാര്‍ മത്തായി സ്പീക്കിംഗ് ടു ഒന്നാം ബാക്കിയാക്കുന്നില്ല.
